Today has been the best day.
It is cold, and it is drizzley, did I mention, it is cold?
There are things about each season that are yummy. Summer, flip-flops. Winter, hot cocoa. Spring, flowers popping up. Fall, well, how can I limit it to just one thing?
Last Fall was filled with apprehension. Physically, I was entering into the deep-end of pregnancy, my dear grandmother had just passed on, and I had no idea how I was going 'to do' another baby. My plate felt full.
Needless to say, I missed the Fall.
This Fall, things are in order.
On our venture to the store today, instead of my normal hurry, I walked slow. The crispy Fall air swirled us in its arms. Abby wrapped herself in a big blanket at the bottom of the cart, with only her eyes peeping to glance at the leaves flying. Trent, who isn't sure what this Fall thing is all about yet, nuzzled his squishy body close to mine searching for extra warmth in my jacket.
Maybe the word for what I like best about Fall should be family. It is the giggles, the smiles, and the love that keeps us warm when the world gets too cold and pushes us inside.
Yep, I think that is what I like best.
This is a Fall I will not miss.
